GOOD BYE AUSAID ROSE
"It is with great sadness that I advise you that the Australian Federal Police have confirmed the identity of Allison Sudradjat as one of the Australians who died on Garuda Flight 200 in Yogyakarta on Wednesday 7 March 2007..."
Dear Ibu Allison,
It's been almost 2 weeks since the terrible accident that took u away...
Yet I still can't believe that it's you...
I wish it wasn't you...
U were such a great and kind leader...
As many of us would say, u lead with
In every staff meeting u never tired to 'push' us to take leaves or even small breaks whenever we feel enough...
And u would add it by saying “I’m serious!”…
I still remember short messages that u often sent me if I was the duty officer of emergency phone…
When I have to report and update emergencies during weekends or holidays…
”Poor you, we owe you day off. Thanks”
It means a lot to know that somebody appreciates what you’re doing…
It’s the saddest time for all of us…
I would wake up in the middle of d night and remembered u right away during the days we hadn’t received any confirmation from the authority…
It’s just paralyzed us all…
I miss your presence in the praying room…
I miss your greetings whenever we run into each other…
I miss your crazy ideas of competitions…
But I guess I have to let u go anyway…
Go with peace bu…
May ALLAH put u among religious people…
Good bye AusAID rose!
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our agency
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along AusAID's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will
Loveliness we've lost
These empty days without your smile
This torch we'll always carry
For our nation's golden child
And even though we try
The truth brings us to tears
All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us through the years
